MATA INDONESIA, LOS ANGELES – Pandemi Covid-19 yang sudah berlangsung selama dua tahun ini tak menyurutkan para artis membuat film yang berkualitas. Selama tahun 2021 dan awal 2022 saja ada ratusan film tampil dalam berbagai platform.
Pada perhelatan Piala Oscar 2022 sekarang ini, beberapa film menguasai daftar nominasi Piala Oscar 2022. Seperti Belfast, The Power of the Dog, Drive My Car, Licorice Pizza, dan West Side Story.
Film-film tersebut selain masuk nominasi film terbaik, mereka juga masuk nominasi penyutradaraan terbaik.
Kemudian, Spider-Man: No Way Home yang memecahkan rekor sebagai film terlaris keenam sepanjang masa ini juga masuk nominasi Oscar 2022 dalam kategori Best Visual Effects.
Dalam kategori itu, Spider-Man: No Way Home bersaing dengan Dune, Free Guy, No Time to Die, dan Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Pembacaan nominasi Oscar 2022 dipandu oleh Leslie Jordan dan Tracee Ellis Ross pada Selasa 8 Februari 2022. Sementara itu, Academy Awards ke-94 atau Oscar 2022 akan terselenggara pada 27 Maret di Dolby Theatre waktu AS.
